Description

Basically, the same trip I was on last August except in the opposite direction. Same camps. Meet at Kramer Junction at 8:00am for breakfast. Hit the road by 9 to Olancha for fuel. Take Hwy 190 to Saline Valley Rd and air down. North on Saline Valley Rd to Cerro Gordo Backdoor turnoff. Takes us to Cerro Gordo Ghost Town. Check that out for awhile. Head up Swansea Cerro Gordo Rd to the first camp at 36° 34' 26.12" N 117° 49' 33.39" W. About 60 miles from Olancha to first camp. Next day, continue on SCG Rd to the salt tram and then continue down to Swansea. Air up, get back on 395N to Mazourka Canyon Rd. Next camp is at 37° 1' 0.25" N 118° 7' 23.62" W. About 70 miles. From camp we can take The Rocky Narrows Rd or stay on Mazouaka Canyon to pavement, Death Valley Big Pine Rd, and air back up. About 15 miles from camp. Bring firewood.
