Sherman Pass / Monache Meadows Trip

July 8th 2011

Description

Our plan is to run the Sherman Pass and Monache Meadows Trails with 2 nights of camping in Monache Meadows.

Spoke to the Blackrock Ranger Station - they expect to have the trails open by 4th of July weekend.  They have had a record snow season and are working hard to get the trails clear and remove the downed trees.  They said there will be a good chance of some snow on the trail.

We have never run these trails before and are not familiar with this area.  We are still working on the specific details and would appreciate any input or suggestions. Our goal is to have a kick-back weekend with some 4-wheeling, exploring and even a little fishing on the Kern River.

We plan on leaving San Clemente around 7:00 Friday morning and meeting up at the Blackrock Ranger Station and departing around noon on Friday.  Additional details will be posted as soon as we figure them out :)
