Sedona, Arizona

Friday, May 3rd 2024 @ 7am to Sunday, May 5th 2024

Description

Please note: this event has been reschduled again to Spring 2024. I had to insert a date, but it may not be the actual date. I will post and actual date when I have one.

AGAIN... Sincere apologies to everyone whose looking forward to this.

Someone on the Lexus GX460 and Toyota Prodo 150 Forum (GX460 / Prado150 - https://forum.ih8mud.com/forums/gx460-prado150.271/ ) has invited us on a 3 day trip in Sedona, Arizona. He (Jake) and is wife (Jill) will show us a few cool vistas and trails. Note that Jake will not lead nor be a guide, but be an "advisor" since he is a novice. But he has done a little wheeling there and knows some cool places to go.

Itinerary:

  • Friday: travel up there and camp out.
  • Saturday: trail runs
  • Sunday: maybe an early trail, then drive home

We're looking at: Schnebly Hill for camping, approx.: 6,500 ft, then Broken Arrow for wheeling and any other trails nearby lower Sedona with elevations around 4000 - 5000 ft if it's not too warm. Presently there are no hard plans on what trails we’ll be doing, we’ll see what’s available and who wants to do what.

We'll use Schnebly Hill as base camp. I've confirmed that RV's and trailers can make it to this location if you want to bring a trailer or tow your rig.
The trail difficulty should be around 2+, not any worse.  4 low will be needed.  I’ll be the Trail Boss, but Jake will be advising and suggesting the trails.

Meet to caravan Friday, 23 June, morning at 0700 at McDonalds, 23861 Bridger Rd, Lake Forest.  At the El Toro Rd off ramp from I-5 North bound.

Should be a 7 - 8 hour easy drive to Sedona.

I will update this event as necessary.
