Updates below in this color.
This is a complete change in plan for the weekend. Red Mountain has been moved to April. Little Lake Duck Hunting Club is now in.
Jeff Buck is a member of the Little Lake Duck Club. There has been a cancellation at the club making it available to other members at no cost. The club sleeps up to 24 people comfortably indoors in a variety of bunk rooms. It has a full kitchen we can use, a gas BBQ, and patio. Everyone needs to bring a sleeping bag and towel. There are three showers. Also bring your own food and beverages. We’ll be “camping” indoors for a change. The is a gun range that can accomodate shot guns and rifles. You can also fish in the lake, but I'm told it is shallow and gets to hot to support fish life. They also have the only dock on the lake. Many thanks to Jeff.
We are not going duck hunting. We’ll run some of the many trails between Highway 395 and the Argus Mountains to the East and to the North towards Cosco Junction. This will involve some exploring on my part but I have good maps to work from. Bob Schaich also provided some recommendations of places to go. There are old mines and other interesting sites to see. We’ll also go look at the many, many, many, petroglyphs around Little Lake.
Maybe we’ll check out Fossil Falls.

Rendezvous @ 6th Street Chevron in Norco
Meet at the rendevous at noon Friday...or find your own way.
The Duck club is 210 miles from San Clemente (about 3.5 hours). Take I-15 North out of LA. Turn North on Highway 395 and continue to Pearsonville for gas. There’s a Subway there if you need something to eat. Go 10 miles North of Pearsonville and turn right on Little Lake Ranch road (signed). Follow the club signs to the duck club.
