Description

Let's do a day trip to Oriflamme, Chariot and Rodriquez Canyons in Anza Borrego state park! 

Middle of the three day weekend should keep traffic fuss down.

stock 4x4s have made this trip with us before. including Suburbans and Monteros and Cherokees.

1 Graded road; Any 4x4 vehicle or higher clearance 2x4 vehicle with no other modifications
2 Road rarely maintained; 4x4 with no low bumpers. Anti-sway bar disconnects recommended. Minimum 30" tires and some off-road experience is helpful
3 Difficult terrain and road rarely maintained; 33" tires, Suspension lift, Off-road driving experience, body armor and Rear locker recommended. Stock vehicles will likely take damage
4 Very difficult terrain, road never maintained and possible erosion; 33" tires, Anti-sway bar disconnects, Rear hard locker, Off-road driving experience, and Rock sliders required. 35" tires, front locker, Full cage, and 4:1 transfer-case strongly recommended. Chance of mechanical failure and body damage
5 Extremely difficult terrain with large obstacles and roll over potential; Full cage required, 37" tires strongly recommended. Good chance of mechanical failure and strong chance of body damage

Rendevous at: San Clemente Carl's Jr

Meet at 0800 Carl's JR at south end of San Clemente / Christianitos off ramp
3929 S. El Camino Real, San Clemente / Leave at 0830.
 
We'll drive down 5 out 78 to Ramona.
Meet Bob at Chevron 802 Main Street about 0935 for last gas
 
Then drive through Julian, down the grade to Banner -> where tow vehicles can be left.
 
 Bring your lunch - no hot dogs stands out there - bring a chair and sunscreen.
