Description

I plan on doing Holcomb Creek on Sat. and if we have time John Bull on Sun. I have the camp site Fri night & Sat night we are at Ironwood group camp (NOT TANGLEWOOD).

Difficulty: 4+


1 Graded road; Any 4x4 vehicle or higher clearance 2x4 vehicle with no other modifications
2 Road rarely maintained; 4x4 with no low bumpers. Anti-sway bar disconnects recommended. Minimum 30" tires and some off-road experience is helpful
3 Difficult terrain and road rarely maintained; 33" tires, Suspension lift, Off-road driving experience, body armor and Rear locker recommended. Stock vehicles will likely take damage
4 Very difficult terrain, road never maintained and possible erosion; 33" tires, Anti-sway bar disconnects, Rear hard locker, Off-road driving experience, and Rock sliders required. 35" tires, front locker, Full cage, and 4:1 transfer-case strongly recommended. Chance of mechanical failure and body damage
5 Extremely difficult terrain with large obstacles and roll over potential; Full cage required, 37" tires strongly recommended. Good chance of mechanical failure and strong chance of body damage

Rendevous at: Trailhead/Campsite

Take I-10 east (State Hwy 330) to Running Springs, CA. Take State Hwy 18 to Big Bear Lake Dam. Do not cross Dam. Go straight on SH-38 to Fawnskin and left on Rim of the World Drive (3N14) for 6.1 miles. Turn left, then right on 3N97 for a short distance to the campground.
